MONOCHROME

“Monochrome”

I’m black and your white,

We can’t see things in the same light.

I’m dark and your bright,

Two sides of a coin separated by flight.

I’m wrong and you’re right,

Head to head different sight.

I’m night and your daylight,

I’m in perpetual darkness and you’re my light.

Everything was balanced right,

Until the day you found someone who will be your own light.

She was colorful in your gaze like a firelight,

Beautiful like Aphrodite.

Your love for her explodes like a meteorite,

Great enough to forget me overnight.

I thought I pick up a good fight,

But you fly high as a kite.

Unreachable and out of sight,

Way above like a satellite.

Realizing you left me alone I lost my appetite,

Alone at my darkness sitting beside a candlelight.

As I stood still being quiet,

I couldn’t be more contrite.

To my Light,

Don’t worry someday I will be alright.
